Exhibition St Andrews Museum

Hi,
Just to let you know that the Embroiderers' Guild, Dundee Branch Exhibition will be opening on Saturday 1st December 2012.
It runs from 1/12/12 to 6/1/13 and is open Daily from 10.30am to 4pm with free admission, they also have a cafe.
There will be a few workshops with some spaces still available . I'm teaching the canvas class with a friend. You can book a place on 01334 659339 . It would make a great day out.

Sadly I seem to be out of space and cannot upload my photos (will investigate this) but just to say that they chose an image of my work for the poster which I'm delighted about. You can see the image here.
There will be some of the members sitting stitching for some of the time during the period of the exhibition.
NB The Museum will be closed for Christmas and New Year. Probably best to give them a ring if you intend visiting around that time.

If you can make it to St Andrews then I hope you enjoy your visit to the exhibition.

PS. The Barrack Street Book which belongs to Dundee Museum and was made by some of the members will be on show as well. The book just happens to be featured in the current issue of Stitch Magazine (Stitch with the Embroiderers' Guild). My page is the one with the tomato puree Astrolabe!

New cards!

Finally got some of my work made into printed cards. Four designs so far and I am really pleased with the results. They are currently on sale at Funky Scottish in Pittenweem but I hope to have them for sale in other places soon. Online in my Etsy shop they will be sold as a pack of four. I hope to start adding to the designs as well as having some Christmas cards printed fairly soon.

I'll post more info about my cards soon.
Byeee!

Pittenweem Arts Festival...

These are my new necklaces that I've been making for the festival this year. At the moment I only have 10. I may not make any more until I see how they go. It's always a hit or a miss until you test out the new designs. I've used my usual technique of layering fabrics then working lots of free machining over the top. I have some other images on my Flickr page.

is on from
Saturday the 28th July until Sunday the 5th August 2012

My work will be at Funky Scottish, High Street, Pittenweem.

Edinburgh Exhibition

A bit late on this one as the exhibition has started. This photo is one of my pieces before it was finished. You'll see the finished pieces in my previous post as they were all at the Group Twelve exhibition at Aberlady earlier this year. Sadly I didn't have time to make any new work.

The exhibition is    ' Scottish Surfaces - An Embroiderers' Approach '
Work by members of the Embroiderers' Guild, Scottish Region.

It is on at the Art's Complex, St Margarets House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh EH7 6AE in Gallery 1 & 2. Opening hours Mon- Sat 10-4, Thurs 10 - 7, closed Sunday.

The exhibition has started and runs until Saturday 19th May 2012.

There is a real treat in Gallery 2 which is only open until 17th May. The embroiderered postcards stsched by members of the Embroiderers' Guild representing every nation taking part in the Olympics. I've seen a few as they were going up and they looked fantastic. Also a selection of the embroidered Rainbow Squares that were done by branches several years ago again a sight to see. Last but not least several cases displaying items from the Embroiderers' Guild Collection.

I'll be there stewarding on Tuesday morning between 10am & 1pm if you want to pop along and say 'hi'.

An exhibition not to be missed!
